I'm a day late but that's okay.  I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving!  This is going to be short, sweet, and to the point.  Yesterday was Thanksgiving and Karl had to sing at Osky church so I wasn't able to go "home" for Thanksgiving Church....needless to say, I did not like this AT ALL.  So, here is a video they played at Sully church yesterday for Thanksgiving.  A lot of people put a lot of work into this video and my friend Jodi shared it with me.  Jodi is a very close friend and I actually started crying when she was talking in this.  I hope you enjoy it too!

Oh, and P.S. ...I told Karl that I will be going home to church on all holiday's from now on...regardless. :)

Last week Rachel, Rowan & I headed to Des Moines to do some quick shopping.  Our first stop was Hobby Lobby.  I was after some simple decorations for my Christmas tree.  Well, it was our lucky day because all Christmas decor, lights, wreaths, etc. were all 50% off.  So, needless to say I got everything I needed for my tree and we also decided to attempt to be crafty!  We picked up fun decor to make a Christmas centerpiece for our tables.
Essentially I just watched what Rach did and copied hers :)
The finished product.  We were pretty proud of ourselves!
The other night when ISU was playing OK St. Karl sat on the ground like a child until 11:30 when the game was over.  He was yelling and getting excited the whole time and literally lept to his feet when they scored the final touchdown in double overtime.  It was funny to me :)
Yesterday we went to the Thanksgiving Family Forum held at a church in Des Moines.  There was 6 of the Republican candidates for President there.  They did a great job and it was very enjoyable listening to them not talk over eachother, have buzzers going off, and trying to defend every single word they say.  You can read a lot about it in the Des Moines Register today.

Last Tuesday the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) hosted a Republican Presidential Forum on Manufacturing at Vermeer.  Due to it being held at Vermeer they had a drawing where you could sign up to win a ticket to this invitation only event.  I put my name in and was able to attend.  I also go to sit in the 3rd row from the front so I was able to see well!  It was a live television brodcasted event via Iowa Public Television.  If you go to you can view it online there also.  The president of NAM and co-chair Mary Andriga, (CEO of Vermeer) welcomed and introduced the nominees and Governor Terry Brandstad.  Each candidate came out and was quizzed by the Governor and president of NAM for 15 minutes.  I think my favorite part was watching them discuss their views seperately and not having to listen to them fight over eachother!  They all discussed items from corporate taxation to import/export taxes to the lack of engineers.  Here are a few pictures from that day.

Vermeer had a great stage with big equipment in the background.  It looked very nice!
All the candidates came out at the beginning to be introduced and then left to come up on stage individually.

I was in the third row but was on the side where the candidates weren't facing.... oh well, here's the best I could do for pictures with no flash.
