Dreaming of warmer weather...

Karl told me the other day that this is the coldest winter since 1950.  I have to say, I'm just used to it, but if it's going to be this cold, it might as well snow!  I'm looking forward to the expected snow this weekend and hope it actually comes!
A few weeks ago we had "Seasoned Youth Night" for youth group.  We played bunco and as usual, young and "seasoned" had a great time playing together.  There was a great turnout, despite it being such a cold night.
We had 10 of our nieces and nephews over one night while their parents went to a fundraiser.  The night went really quick and I think they were more entertained with their cousins there!  Ice cream sundaes were a hit.  I'm pretty good at giving them pop, sugar and then saying goodnight, go on home and sleep for your parents! :)  That's what good aunts & uncles do, right?!
This is a gal from our youth group.  She is the cutest little thing and performed in the PC co-ed stunt cheer team.  They did a routine at the Drill Team Snow Show.
The Snow Show was the team's "finale' " for the year.  They performed all their routines, some solos, and included the dance clinic girls ages K-8 who learned routines during the day.
My little cousin Renae (red earmuffs) really enjoyed dancing. She did really good and paid really good attention!  She performed a dance to a song off of Happy Feet.
My niece Rachel (left) did really great too.  She was in a older age bracket so they got to use the poms (a highlight of any little girl..)  She had fun!
Great attitude Rach! work it! :)
All good performers should get ice cream afterwards! :)
Isn't this the cutest thing you've ever seen?!  Karl hung out at Kurt/Em's for a while since I had to be to the Snow Show early.  Emily said she came out of the bathroom from getting ready to find the boys tag-teaming taking care of Jackson.  Kurt was changing his diaper and Karl held the pacifier in his mouth so he wouldn't cry.  How sweet is that? :)  Thanks for the pic Em!!
Cold weather usually means my birthday is coming!  And now it has came and gone.  I got taken out to eat by my parents, in-laws, co-workers and Karl.  I had one weight-gaining weekend! :)
I remember being 18 and thinking that 25 sounded old, because it was practically 30, which was only 10 away from 40, which was almost 50, and that's how old my parents were.  Now I'm 25, happy with life and embracing it :)

Emily and Jackson came to visit me at work on my birthday!  It was a great surprise :)

....be sure to check out my next blog in a few weeks.... it might have pictures making you dream of warmer weather... :)
